Mediterranean Conference Centre (MCC)

Malta’s Mediterranean Conference Centre is one of the most recognizable landmarks of the country’s capital city: the gorgeous 16th century building sits at the northern tip of the Valletta peninsula, overlooking the Grand Harbour.

The monumental MCC building is a stunning blend of old and new, the original frame having been converted into a modern conference center in 1979. The masterful combination of classical architecture and modern technology employed in the course of the restoration earned the project the coveted ‘Europa Nostra’ Award and international praise.

The Centre is not your conventional convention hall-- it is one of the most exceptional venues in the Mediterranean, having hosted a wide array of events from exhibitions, banquets, and product launches to theatrical performances.

While the MCC building is undoubtedly an important part of the city’s cultural heritage, it has also been expertly adapted to meet the needs of a present day event space. As a result of its stellar reputation and years of experience facilitating events, the MCC has been awarded membership in the prestigious Historic Conference Centres of Europe (HCCE).

While the beauty and scale of the building itself is evident on the outside, the inside is no less impressive, covering around 8,000 square meters. The main auditorium, Republic Hall, has room for 1,400 visitors in its majestic theatre seating, while the elegant La Valette banquet Hall can accommodate up to 900. If event planners are looking for something more personable, the MCC has any number of uniquely designed smaller-scale halls for conferences and seminars. All spaces come complete with modern audio-visual equipment, including independent sound, light and climate control.  

For receptions and banquets in need of catering, the MCC has a fully-stocked in-house kitchen and the Island’s largest selection of experienced partners in the dining industry ready to provide quality food for up to 4,000 people a day.
