Maltese Authors Nominated Shortlisted for European Union Prize for Literature
Maltese authors Lara Calleja and Joe Pace have been shortlisted for the prestigious European Union Prize for Literature (EUPL), with the official announcement made earlier this month on 15th April.
The award is aimed at providing a vital platform for emerging authors across Europe, with 41 countries represented. In this latest edition of the award, writers from 14 countries were chosen as winning entries, including Albania, Armenia, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Iceland, Latvia, Malta, Moldova, the Netherlands, Portugal, Serbia, Slovenia, Sweden, Tunisia.
Lara Calleja’s was shortlisted for Kissirtu Kullimkien (You’ve Destroyed Everywhere), and Joe Pace for his book Papa Aħmed (Pope Ahmed), both published by Merlin.
