Heritage Malta Celebrates the International Lace Day

This Sunday the 11 th , Heritage Malta will celebrate the International Lace Day at the Inquisitor's Palace in Birgu. This exclusive event will feature various lace makers practicing their craft throughout the day in the palace's Castellania Courtyard. In addition, Heritage Malta will also offer two guided tours of the palace, one in Maltese (10:30) and the other in English (14:00)   

The participants will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of the hosting location and gain information regarding the national textile collection housed at the palace. Moreover, the organizers will explain the importance of this old Maltese tradition and how it moved from one generation to the next.

Heritage Malta Celebrates the International Lace Day

And that is not all! The public will be able to try the practice of lace making, helped by the lace makers present at the celebration, who will be available to give some advice and share interesting stories and curiosities.
