Heritage Malta Celebrates European Archaeology Days

Heritage Malta will celebrate European Archaeology Days launching three unique events between the 18^th and the 21^st of June. The programme will offer guided tours dedicated to the Summer Solstice, sessions where the public will have the opportunity to ask questions and general information and a special opening of the St Augustine’s Catacombs.

The Summer Solstice tours will be held on the 19^th, 20^th and 21^st of June at Mnajdra while at Ħaġar Qim on the 20^th and 21^st. All the tours will be at sunrise time. The session for aquestions and information will take place on Friday 18^th of June at the National Museum of Archaeology in the Maltese capital, Valletta where Heritage Malta will offer one session in Maltese at 10am and one in English at 2pm.

Finally, the special opening of the St Augustine’s Catacombs is scheduled for Sunday 20^th June, representing a unique opportunity since this site is usually closed to the public. Also in this case, the organisers will present one tour in Maltese at 10am and one in English at 2pm.
