Festivals Malta To Present Sensational Jazz Evening Featuring Pianist Joe Debono and Danny Grissett Trio

The event will take place Sunday 17th of July at the City Theater in Valletta, from 20:00 to 21:00.

Joe Debono is a pianist who crossed his path with jazz thanks to his uncle Charles Sciberras, who was a renowned local jazz drummer. De Bono collaborated with a large series of artists in different countries. In Canada, for instance, he played alongside musicians like Sandro Zerafa, Roberto Occhipinti, Mark Kelso and others. In 2020, he collaborated, as a composer and arranger, with Maltese singer Nadine Axisa for her album Ħoss tal-Għabex, which won the Best Album at the MMA20 Maltese award.

The evening will also bring another incredibly talented artist, pianist and composer Danny Grissett, who has been one of the most sophisticated musicians on the New York and international jazz scenes for the last 20 years. Following his debut recording in 2006, Grissett published six more remarkable recordings throughout his career. He will perform in Malta alongside his trio, giving to the audience an opportunity not to be missed.
