Colliding with Beckett

Colliding with Beckett

Colliding with Beckett will take place on Friday 30th of April at 20:00 on YouTube and represents an online performance launched by Year 1 and 2 students of the Department of Theater Studies, School of Performing Arts, of the University of Malta (UM). The project is inspired by these five works of Samuel Beckett: Rockaby, Not I, What Where, Endgame, and Play

The event sees the performers, who virtually meet somewhere, colliding with the five works and creating a unique way of interpreting the Irish novelist's words.

The students performing, from Year 2, are David Dimitrov, Miguel Formosa, Sara Gauci, Martha Maria Mangani, Mathea Martin while the students from Year 1 Kira Borg Marks, Michela Buhagiar Soler, Josue Formosa, Rakelle Portelli and Alessandra Sgobio will take care of the lights and sound.

The director is Paul Sadot, Visiting Research Fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Performative Arts (CIPA) Birmingham City University, UK. In addition, tutors are Dr Mario Frendo, Dr Paul Sadot, Mario Sammut (Sound Design) and Ismael Portelli (Light Design).
