Brikkuni To Perform with Karl Fiorini at Metanoia Theatre

Famed Maltese Folk-Rock band 'Brikkuni' are set to make an appearance at the Metanoia Theatre on June 15th at this year's International Spring Orchestra Festival, with the alternative band being chosen to open this year's proceedings at the ISOF.

Brikkuni To Perform with Karl Fiorini at Metanoia Theatre

The festival's artistic director and Paris-based composer Karl Fiorini has orchestrated some of the band's best-known songs for String Ensemble which will perfromed by an 8-person ensemble be led by Maria Conrad. The concert will also feature original music by Brikkuni as well as a new number written especially for the occasion.

Brikkuni To Perform with Karl Fiorini at Metanoia TheatreBrikkuni's latest album, 'Il-Hajja, Il-Mewt, u n-Nisa' was released in 2020

The concert is expected to be around 1 hour 15 minutes long, with a section dedicated to the new musical arrangements prepared by Fiorini, as well as a new single that the band has created in collaboration with the composer. The rest of the concert shall see the group perform a number of the most popular songs from their extensive repertoire.

Concert audiences are limited to 80 people per performance due to Covid-19 restrictions. As a result, the initial rollout of tickets were quickly sold out, which led to the band adding a second performance to meet demand. At the time of writing this has sold out as well, with the band and the ISOF preparing to add yet another date on the 16th of June. Tickets for this performance are expected to be out soon.
